My reflection around artistic recycling began a long time ago. My passion to transform, to give life again to material considered dead is integrated in my mind as a logical process. With recycling, the mechanics of creation are reversed: the material, through its shape, color, properties, imposes its constraints and guides me towards the ideas.
It is a matter of looking at things from several points of view; to turn over, fold, cut, agglomerate, accumulate, tie, sew, twist, weave, hook? actions which become tools to transform the shortcomings into advantages. My work is half game, half challenge. It is the result of explorations and interpretations of "systematic waste": industrial production and daily scraps to which I give another meaning. It is like seeking a solution which doesn't seem to exist, and to gradually see the evolution and metamorphosis materialize and offer an infinity of possibilities.
Through this diversion work, I hope to kindle in the minds the new outlook which it is important to have on our surroundings, and showing that recycling is not necessarily a chemical or complicated process to implement, but can be simple and clever thanks to manual intervention on the materials. The finality is to promote a note of optimism, knowing the multiple solutions that it is still possible for us to create to give a little attention and love to our splendid planetary garden?
